Chapter Resources

Chapter Funding
Under the Chapter Funding Program, we make funds available to assist Chapters in making membership goals. Chapters can request funds at the beginning of the year via our annual questionnaire. These funds can be used for a variety of activities, such as special events, member recruitment, and remuneration for special lecturers. Requests are evaluated by the appropriate Regional Director and recommendations are then sent to the Director of Membership Programs Development for approval. To request funding for your Chapter please go to the IEEE ComSoc Funding Request for Chapter Activities Form.

Chapter Formation
Interested in starting a Chapter? Get started by referring to IEEE’s Geographic Unit Formation Policies and Petitions.

Global Communications Newsletter (GCN)
Promote your Chapter’s activities in our Global Communications Newsletter (GCN). GCN provides a monthly news outlet for IEEE ComSoc’s Chapter community in addition to articles of interest from Regional telecommunications industry, operators, and academia.

Chapter Website Request Form
The IEEE Communications Society offers web hosting to IEEE’s EWH WordPress hosting for our boards, committees and Chapters. WordPress is a content management system for building and maintaining web sites. It allows you to manage your website with an easy to use interface.

Distinguished Lecturer Program
The Distinguished Lecturer Program provides IEEE ComSoc local Chapters with access to lectures by renowned authorities on communications and networking. Chapter leaders can request speakers for Chapter meetings and Chapter-related events who provide a valuable service to members and your local community.

Chapter Awards
IEEE Communications Society recognizes the outstanding achievements of its Chapters through two annual awards, the Chapter Achievement Award, Chapter of the Year Award, and the Membership and Global Activities Contribution Award. The CAA and the COY are given to Chapters that provide their members with the highest quality of service in the areas of technical activities, public relations, educational services, membership development, job placement support, and services geared toward Student members. The MGACA is given when the Chapter increases their membership. To submit an award nomination for your Chapter please go to IEEE ComSoc Chapter Recognition Awards for Past Year Chapter Activities and email the completed form to Carol Cronin
